Spider eating spider

This is very common amongst spiders and a whole lot of predatory insects and bugs. In this case a Jumping Spider eating a Lynx Spider.

Great shot! I have also been lucky enough to capture 'spider eating spider' before. Not nearly as good a photo as yours, though!

Diane: Spiders are not popular and I can only think it is because the fear of them is passed down from one generation to another. It seems such a pity as they are harmless and will only bite if you hurt them and do an excellent job at keeping the mosquito population down. But we all have our likes and dislikes dont we? :)My secret is I don't like fish or broccoli. LOL!!

Like all insects, one has to move very slowly around these things Jonker then you can get fairly close to them. :)

Graham: See my reply to Diane. My greatest achievement in life has been to get someone over their fear of spiders without even realising I was doing so. :)Maybe I should do the same for you?

You are right Gaelyn. It used to be a 'dog eat dog' world but they dont really eat their opponents do they so it is definitely a 'spider eating spider' world. :)

Thanks Maggie. Photograph is only because of the macro lens but they are so expensive.
