Trying to find something to post, I came across these photographs which I took a while back. The first two are of the crystals formed on the grass hairs early on a winters morning.....
These were taken after the rain. The little cups where the petals fell out are filled with water.
The reflections of the trees behind me.
This is the prettiest weed with its pink color. I took this after a storm too.
Joan what lovely pictures. Water is one of the prettiest things in nature, that is of course when it is not angry! Diane
ReplyDeleteWOW! Joan getting artistic are we :) just kidding excellent shots the first two are stunning the way the crystals have formed :)
ReplyDeleteSuper drop shots. I did one myself the other day, but I think the best ones are taken early in the morning with lots of dew around.
ReplyDeleteOh my what great pictures. You have a wonderful eye for tiny details, Joan!
ReplyDeleteCiao Joan, beautiful series of photos the first two are a discovery for me.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day
Thanks DIane. I love the sound of water too but you are right, it can be a powerful, destructive force sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThanks Philip. I have always taken these kinds of pics but most often they do not come out very nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jonker. The first two were taken early in the morning just after the sun came out and it had not had time to melt it yet. Needless to say I was freezing my butt off too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks TB. I am fascinated by so many aspects of nature there is always something catching my eye.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sciarada. Those two pictures did come out very nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's Joan! I love them.
ReplyDeleteCraig Glenn
Absolutely beautiful, Joan!
ReplyDeleteFantastic ice crystals, Joan! I like the "face" in the bottom photo.
ReplyDeleteAs always your macros are superb. I love the fresh and detailed look of the raindrops.
ReplyDeleteOh my these are so delicate. Wonderful catch!
ReplyDeleteB.
I love the droplets Joan...I had the strangest experience. There has been a lady beetle in the laundry room since last winter. Today I went in there and it flew on to my arm so I took it outside and away it flew..Maybe it needed the ride....
ReplyDeleteThanks Craig. It is an interesting subject but not easy to get pictures of. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Jose.
ReplyDeleteThanks Craver. I hate the cold but was pleased I braved it to get those photos. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gaelyn. Everything always smell so fresh and clean after a storm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky. I particularly liked the one on the pinkish weed. The color gave it a nice texture.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! No Michelle, it was just not sure which was the door was. :) I have one that is wintering inside on my wall and expect it to take off soon too as it is getting warmer. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ida. Hope you are doing well and it is warming up by you? :)
ReplyDeleteMost beautiful captures of water drops, I have ever seen. Great work Joan.
ReplyDeleteJoan: Beautiful captures of the water, outstanding art work.
ReplyDeleteUp north where you live - the water freezes not like our sunny tropical southern climates :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs! Yet another topic for me to explore!
Thanks Birdy. They are the kind of pictures I have always been interested in taking but never get around to. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tom. I have been collecying them for a while now but somehow never got to post. :)
ReplyDeleteIt does not do that where I live either Zane. Pretoria is divided by a small mountain range and you get frost on the other side of it opposite to me. :) My side is sub-tropcal too thank goodness. :)
ReplyDeleteNatures liquor suberbly presented Joan.
ReplyDeleteThanks Frank. I think I need to practice a bit more and experiment with this kind of photography.
ReplyDeletewow..those are super! I love both the crystals and the drops! That pink one looks so pretty and soft. Great camera work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. That is my favorite too. This is another subject I want to explore more.
ReplyDeleteJoan... seriously... these are all brilliant! I LOVE water droplets and you've done them really well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Krista. It is something I always look for when it rains.
