Lizard Buzzard and snake

Sometimes, chance brings you to the right place at the right time. Cruising around on one of the sand roads, I spotted this buzzard in a tree with a snake which it was eating.
The snake must be about 1.5m in length but as it was nearing the end of the day and I had to take the pictures against the setting sun, the pictures are not good enough to identify the snake. It does seem to have a vertical stripe on it which would make it a non-venomous species.

  1. wow - what a find ... pity about the sun ...

I wonder if it's a whip or sand snake?

  3. Hello Graham. I hope things are going well with you now?

The snake was too far away to actually identify unfortunately.

  4. Thanks Gaelyn. I must say that during my stay here I have had wonderful sightings. I have a lot of video material I want to post sometime too when time allows.
