Three for the price of one

What luck. :) At the top is some kind of fly, in the centre a tiny spider and at the bottom, mating beetles. The flowers themselves are very small, maybe an inch in length which will give you an indication to the size of the insects. :)
The little spider looked more like a crab to me. :)

  1. Hi Joan! Lovely capture! Is the fly dead? It looks as if it's lying on its back. Wow, what a small spider - it does look like a crab!

Good luck with your buggie guide. I want an autographed one when you've finished. LOL! Enjoy this gloomy weather too - it is perfect for eating!

  2. I hope you have clicked the usutable for children box.
what a good shot, the guy on the top flower must be playing possum and rolling with laughter at the performance,
then you got the other guy thinking its nearly dinner time,
any one of them three will do.

  6. As we ease into winter weather here, it's nice to see the activities of the little creatures in your warmer climate. Cute stripes on the spider's legs. :)

  9. It sure is TB. :)I used to think it was a 'dog eat dog' world now I discover it is actually a 'bug eat bug' world instead.

  19. Hello Becky. Yes they were all so small it was easy to get them all in the one pic. The top one was actually hanging onto the flower. :)

  20. The "fly" is also a beetle - same species as the mating pair, which are jewel beetles (family Buprestidae) in the genus Anthaxia. There are a great many species in this genus, most of which are quite fond of small, round flowers.

  21. Joan...I am noticing that many, many of your post are still showing up in your feed. I use a backup utility that grabs the posts and saves them. I think that you could restore a ton of your posts with this utility. Or contact me and I will see if I can do it....Michelle
