What luck. :) At the top is some kind of fly, in the centre a tiny spider and at the bottom, mating beetles. The flowers themselves are very small, maybe an inch in length which will give you an indication to the size of the insects. :)
The little spider looked more like a crab to me. :)
Hi Joan! Lovely capture! Is the fly dead? It looks as if it's lying on its back. Wow, what a small spider - it does look like a crab!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your buggie guide. I want an autographed one when you've finished. LOL! Enjoy this gloomy weather too - it is perfect for eating!
I hope you have clicked the usutable for children box.
ReplyDeletewhat a good shot, the guy on the top flower must be playing possum and rolling with laughter at the performance,
then you got the other guy thinking its nearly dinner time,
any one of them three will do.
It's a small world out there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little spider! It does look like a crab, hehe.
ReplyDeleteMating beetles?? Get a room, you two!
ReplyDeleteSo much going on in this beautiful world, big and small. Nice capture getting 3 for 1.
ReplyDeleteWill email soon with news.
As we ease into winter weather here, it's nice to see the activities of the little creatures in your warmer climate. Cute stripes on the spider's legs. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sreddy. No the fly is not dead. LOL!! You make me feel like a famous person. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Tony. It is that circle of life isn't it? Or maybe 'eat or be eaten':)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is TB. :)I used to think it was a 'dog eat dog' world now I discover it is actually a 'bug eat bug' world instead.
ReplyDeleteThanks leeloo. Kind of cute for a spider. :)
ReplyDeleteHey Craver, you are too young to look at pictures like that. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Gaelyn. An waiting for the e-mail. :) I can take a guess as to the subject matter and if I am right, I know how you feel. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Diane. I hope my pictures bring you a ray of sunshine this winter.
ReplyDeleteI'm very impressed that you picked all of that up and got the pics to show. On the other hand, it doesn't surprice me that you did. And yes, it does look ike a mini-crab.
ReplyDeleteThose are very kind words Jonker and I thank you for them. You would see the same things I do if you train your eyes to pick things like this up.
ReplyDeleteHi Joan, Is that a fly trap flower on the top! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHello Lawrence. It does look like one but this is not the natural habitat for them, though ehe flies do love them. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWow joan, these are tiny beings. That insect on top looks dead. At least it's legs are up? ?
ReplyDeleteCute little spider too.
B.
Hello Becky. Yes they were all so small it was easy to get them all in the one pic. The top one was actually hanging onto the flower. :)
ReplyDeleteThe "fly" is also a beetle - same species as the mating pair, which are jewel beetles (family Buprestidae) in the genus Anthaxia. There are a great many species in this genus, most of which are quite fond of small, round flowers.

Joan...I am noticing that many, many of your post are still showing up in your feed. I use a backup utility that grabs the posts and saves them. I think that you could restore a ton of your posts with this utility. Or contact me and I will see if I can do it....Michelle
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Thanks once again Ted. Trust me to get it wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteThat would be great Michelle. Just let me know how to get to it please.
