Unbelieveble....
We used to get them in Bakersfield... So many that they would cover the sides of the house. These would lay dorment for seven years in the ground, then it seemed that they would all rise up at once, hungry and ready to eat.
Looks just like a leave. Unbelievable.
Joan: What a beauty, cool find.
Interesting critter! I had to bring it up larger to really study it, it's so "well hidden in plain sight"!
This is cool! Very difficult to see at first.B.
Thanks Joan, I was lucky to spot it immediately this time, lol. Anna :)
Simply awesome! Nature never fails to impress and amuse me. :o)
Hello Andrea. I find these things fascinating. Nature is WONDERFUL!! :)
My goodness Mike, I have never heard of so many being together at one time. I am sure it must have scared a lot of people. That is a very interesting bit about them being able to stay dorment for so long, I did not know that. Thanks for the info.
Thanks Jonker. Now you know what to look for, leaves with legs. :)
Thanks Tom. I love finding these. :)
It could be so easily missed Mary. I am sure that there are a LOT I am NOT finding. :)
You are right Becky. I really had to go crawling under the bushes for this one. :)
Good for you Anna, it means your eyes are adjusting to pick them up. :)
Thanks Krista. Me too. :)
What a strange creature!
Don't you have something similar there Jose? Maybe you have just not noticed them.
