ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, Joan. Has spring arrived in SA yet? Blessings Jo
ReplyDeleteThanks Friend of HK. Waterdrops make a great subject.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo. Yes it has but still no rain and I believe summer does not start until we do. I must admit we had a very mild winter with not too many cold days due to the wind we get from the Cape.
ReplyDeleteWater drops make for some of the most beautiful pictures out there. I just have never tried on purpose to get a reflection in a drop before.
ReplyDeleteI love raindrops, as you will see in my post today. that hibiscus is amazing, i have hundreds of them in the yard and have taken many photos of them half open, but this one is shaped like a big tear drop. raindrops are God's Diamons for His world. these are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNice captures Joan! You have some extra ordinary skills to capture raindrops. These raindrops bring me some cooling effects in this hot summer day.
ReplyDeleteI love water especially when it is peaceful:-) Great shots. Diane

Hi Joan!!
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget one of the greatest songs of all time...
"The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin.
The jest of the song is that into every life, just a little rain must fall...
Water is the coolest thing to catch on camera I think... You get so much more with it... The fence is cool!
Wow, very impressive raindrop macros and song list. I really like the idea of catching reflections in the water. Especially like the second to last image with the rows of drops on what could be spider webs. Very cool Joan.
ReplyDeleteHope to see something on your sidebar soon about voting for you as best blog in ZA.
It is interesting finding some with good reflections in them Jonker, then catching them is a bit of a challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra. The Hibiscus here come in the most wonderful colors. I have done a few blogs on them and cannot get enough of their variety.
ReplyDeleteThanks Birdy. It is getting hot here too thank goodness but I see you are still having a lots of floods and damage. How sad for the people who are hurt, killed or loose their homes in all of this.
ReplyDeleteI love the rain Diane and never mind if it falls for days on end. I have seen too much drought not to appreciate every drop. I also like waterfalls, lakes etc. VERY peaceful as you say.
ReplyDeleteI have gone and verified my details Diane. Thank you once again for this nomination. It is greatly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteHello Mike. I was never a Zepplin fan so missed this one. Sorry. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are right about into each life a little rain must fall. SOmetimes it is troublesome and sometimes it is a blessing.
Thanks Gaelyn. It was the hairs on the grass which caught the dew so this is an extreme close-up. It was so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will put something in the sidebar for the voting. :) This was so nice of Diane and I could not believe it when she told me about it.
Rain drops are my absolute favourite subject matter. I think they automatically take any subject and boost it up 5 or 6 notches on the pretty-meter.
ReplyDeleteThese ones are really great. That hibiscus is gorgeous and... well... rain drop factor! LOL Great shots Joan!
ahem... had to post again because I'm not sure if I subscribed to get your response or not. ;o)
ReplyDeleteLike small diamonds...
ReplyDeleteWater is the cheapest jewel we have :)
I have to agree with you on all of that Krista as I am a sucker for pictures with rain or dew drops on them. :) It adds just that certain soemthing to a picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea. They are beautiful. I am hoping that our rain will start soon too.
ReplyDeleteIt seems as if I cannot spell Krista. LOL!! As you probably figured out, that should be "something". LOL!!
ReplyDeleteJoan when did it rain by you I am still waiting beautiful shots with the rain drops BTW :))
ReplyDeleteLOL!! No such luck yet Philip. These are pictures I have taken and stored away until I have nothing else to post then I go and scratch them out. I wish we get rain soon.
ReplyDeleteLovely rain drop shots!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots! Great reflections on the droplets. Well done, Joan!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jose. I am hoping for rain soon so I can get some more. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my Joan..these are so beautiful... I thought of 'Raindrops keep fallen on my head'...can I think of who sung it..no... LOL
ReplyDeleteSuch perfect raindrops Joan. Don't you just love taking these images?
ReplyDeleteB.
Thanks Michelle. I think it was BJ Thomas if I remember correctly?
ReplyDeleteI sure do Becky. I often wonder if people think I am crazy when they see me peering at these thing to see what reflections I can see in them. LOL!! I am not saying they are wrong though. LOL!!
